Pamoja Road Safety Initiative
The Pamoja Road Safety Initiative is a registered NGO working in Kenya with an aim to develop road safety programs to increase knowledge, awareness and skills to all road users. Launched in 2009 by the organization Executive director Mr. Munene Gachuru, the Pamoja Road safety initiatives main objective is to raise awareness among all Kenyans of the extent of death and injury on our roads in their power to prevent it through careful use of roads as a shared responsibility.
The organization has been involved in various successful projects and initiatives including protesting the establishment of a car park on one of the major black spots in Nairobi -- Waiyaki way. The car park set to be established would have posed a great health hazard, compromising the safety of all road users. Since the protest, the project has been stopped by the council and the proprietors ordered to abandon and revegetate from the car park. The Chariots of Destiny Organization supports the initiative's of the Pamoja Road safety organization and looks forward to working with them in our quest for safer roads!
