The participants shared knowledge, experiences and approaches to advocating for road safety and road crash victims. They discussed the creation of a global alliance of NGOs for road safety and road victims, strengthen their capacities for engaging with the media and were encouraged to deliver a contribution to the launch and implementation of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020.  A draft document -Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims: A Guide for NGOs, currently in preparation by WHO and NGO members of the UN Road Safety Collaboration was described and discussed in plenary. This subject is a follow-up of the discussions that were done at the First Global Meeting of Road Safety NGOs which was held in Brussels, Belgium in May, 2009 and in which Casey who was among the panel speakers made a special presentation about this same topic.

The idea of an Alliance was welcomed and there was a general consensus to move forward. Chariots of Destiny Organization are fully supporting the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 and will also be an active member of the Alliance. The two days were very inspirational and full of learning. It was a pleasure to see and feel such a great energy, also to see old and make new friends in our working field of global road safety.
