Achievements

The Make Roads Safe campaign was started to advocate for global road safety.  Started by the FIA Foundation, the Global Road Safety forum as well as hundreds of other organizations worldwide, the campaign aimed to collect 1.2 million signatures globally, to signify the 1.2 million people that are killed on our roads every year!

The chariots of destiny organization took up the campaign in Nairobi and collected signatures from different colleges, organizations and members of public. By the end of the campaign, COD had raised slightly over 10,000 signatures and through continuous advocacy for road safety have got more members supporting the campaign.

More than one million people signed the petition calling for the first ever global ministerial conference on road safety held at the UN headquarters in New York. COD members were privileged to represent and attend the conference.  Together with other organizations, the Chariots of Destiny Organization succeeded in persuading the UN to convene a governmental conference in Moscow in November 2009 to intensely begin working on policies geared towards advocating for global road safety.  Click here to see pictures from the campaign.
